Arrogant Frog is a line of estate-bottled wines from the Languedoc region of southern France. Like its creator, winemaker Jean-Claude Mas (aka the Humble Vintner), this wine is proud to assert its Mediterranean origin.

Over the centuries, generations of the Mas family have tended vineyards and made wine in the Languedoc. Vines were first planted here under the ancient Greeks, more than 500 years before Christ. Despite their great age these vineyards have lost none of their vibrancy and refined charm.

They produce their Chardonnay Viognier in their Caude Val winery near Limoux, 23 km west of Carcassonne in the Languedoc region. The very modern cellar with 25 000 Hectoliter capacity and 1000 oak barrels offer perfect conditions for vinifying the fruits they harvest only in the Limoux and Carcassonne region.

This part of the Languedoc, thanks to the altitude between 140 and 300 meters and the oceanic influence, offers very good conditions for growing these white grape varieties.

Bright gold yellow with straw yellow tints in colour, the nose is very elegant with a quintessence of tropical fruits, peach and white flowers aromas with a hint of vanilla and toasted bread.

The palate is fresh and mellow with a long persistence finishing on fruity notes.

By Blending Syrah from three different “Terroir”: Domaine de Nicole, the Montagne Noire foothills and the Haute Vallee de l’Aude, they have created an archetypal Languedoc Shiraz.

Jean Claude Mas has made the wine on the 3 different estates and then blended it at the Arrogant Frog Winery. They keep the percentages of each different Terroir to themselves; this is their little secret…
