Launched in 1959 by Bernard de Nonancourt, Grand Siècle is Laurent-Perrier's grande cuvée, characterised by its savoir-faire signature and the Laurent-Perrier's quest for blending excellence. The epitome of Champagne blending, Grand Siècle calls on well-balanced wines from the finest growths 'grands crus'and the very best harvests; years which have been declared as vintages by Laurent-Perrier. Grand Siècle is a blend of pinot noir and chardonnay, with the latter being slightly dominant. The grapes are supplied by ten of the most prestigious crus or villages, all of them Grands Crus classified at 100%, such as Ambonnay, Bouzy, Mailly, Avize, Cramant and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Within the vineyards of these crus, only the very best sites are selected and the finest juices are retained from the press. The wine is then aged for at least seven years. ASPECT: Starry bright, and fine effervescence. AROMA: Intense and complex nose of slightly candied citrus fruits. Then, aromas of fresh pastry, grilled almonds, subtle hints of honey and gingerbread. TASTE: Tasty and developed, the wine brings a feeling of fullness which satisfies the palate. The beautiful minerality leaves an outstanding sensation of freshness. Grand Siècle offers a perfect balance between strength and delicacy.
