Vinification Note: The vineyards are located in an area known as Gioia del Colle where Benedictine monks start growing Primitivo vines in 1700. The present training system is alberello on a fertile clay type terroir. Vines are 35/40 years old and harvest starts the 1st week of October.
Tasting Note: Blimey what a leathery, chocolaty wine! On the nose if you work hard and let yourself go you will find aromas of compost, damson jam, crude oil and figs smeared in beef extract. In the mouth its much the same with the addition of a hint of violet petals and freeze dried strawberries. Enjoy with everything meaty.
