Grape Varieties: 59% Merlot and 41% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Harvest Report: 2007 was one of those vintages where the vineyard worker had to be permanently on call from the beginning of the vegetative period until the last day of the harvest in order to get the best out of this terroir.

Viticulture: The Médoc, one of France’s most prestigious winegrowing regions is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the estuary of the Gironde to the east. Nearly equidistant from the tip of the Graves and the city of Bordeaux, Saint-Estèphe is one of the four most prestigious appellations in the Mèdoc. It covers 1,250 hectares. It is an undulating landscape, which in another era lay beneath the sea. The appellation is remarkable for it’s geographical and climatic singularity: the soil consists of gravel over clay, providing good drainage, and the temperate climate modified by strong maritime influences is conductive to excellent maturation of grapes.

Wine Making: After the assemblage, the wine is left to develop for 12 months in barrels made from oaks grown in central France, 30% of which are new. The wine rests for a further 12 months in the bottle before being finally marketed.

Tasting Notes: A beautiful brilliant purple colour. Very fruity with notes of toast and tobacco. Full and elegant this wine is without doubt a wine to be enjoyed.
