Nose: exceptional: some lovely rhubarb tart with vanilla topping; strands of Demerara with a slight salty flourish. Some Invergordon show Canadian tendencies, this is purely Kentuckian. Beguiling…;

Taste: pure silk. Typical of the distillery in its softness, but again bourbon characteristics loom large when fabulous honeycomb, creamed hickory and Demerara-sweetened oils;

Finish: grinds to a slightly uncomfortable halt as some bitterness arrives. But a few spices and a few lingering vanilla notes compensate;

Balance: another which keeps faithfully to the distilleries yielding, melt-in-the-mouth style. But here we have a deep Kentucky drawl and a nose from heaven…
