Flaming Heart is back. To celebrate their 10th Anniversary, Flaming Heart returns in its third limited edition, with a new label illustrated by Alex Machin. Flaming Heart combines Highland, Islay and Island single malts, aged in a combination of American and French oak casks, to create a smoky sweet flavour profile like no other Scottish malt whisky.
Made from a marriage of fine, old single malt whiskies from Islay and Speyside distilleries: 22% Glenallachie 1974 (36 yo) aged in first-fill sherry butt, 78% Caol Ila 1984 (26 years old) aged in American oak hogsheads.
They call this malt whisky Oak Cross because it offers the best characteristics of both American and French oak aging. A rich, medium-bodied malt whisky, Oak Cross combines vanilla characters from American oak and spicy, clove-like characters from French oak.
As in the past, The Spice Tree is 100% malt whisky sourced from northern Highland distilleries, (notably and primarily malt whisky distilled at the Clynelish distillery). The primary maturation is in a mix of first-fill and refill American oak.
Rich and loaded with flavour: a bacon-fat smokiness, full-blown peat, a maltiness, hints of fruit and spice. The finish is very long, echoing peat and smoke for several minutes.
Introduced initially as a Macallan-Laphroaig bottling from selected single casks of each (which Douglas Laing believe will continue as a “regular” bottling), Douglas Laing have continued the process with selected single casks from different distilleries.

Magnificent array of salt and bitty peat; heavy yet light enough for the most delicate of citrus. Hard to find a nose which screams "Islay" at you with such a lack of ambiguity: it is, frankly, perfect.
JOHNNIE WALKER GREEN LABEL is a rich blend using only malts, drawn from the four corners of Scotland – the naturally vibrant flavours provide unparalleled depth, substance and intensity. Each of the malts is specially selected by the Master Blender to create the perfect balance in the whisky.
