The Nantwich Food and Drink Festival is one of the few UK food festivals based in a town centre and in this case, what a town! This lovely town has one of the largest collections of historic buildings in Cheshire, with Elizabethan, Georgian and Victorian architecture throughout the town centre, and the 14th century St Marys Church, considered by some to be one of the finest medieval churches in the whole of England.
The narrow streets are full of independent shops, selling a wide variety of food, wine, and much more as well as a lively community of coffee shops, restaurants and bars.
There has been a market in Nantwich since 1720, and as well as the thriving market held each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, there is a Farmers’ market on the last Saturday of every month, full of high quality local produce.
This year during the Friday and Saturday of the Festival, Fred Barton from Chase Distillery samples of the Chase range of vodka’s and Gins.
The first bottle of Chase Vodka was produced in Herefordshire in 2008. Today William Chase sells his hugely popular vodka & gin around the world. Hear more about the process of making it and taste for yourselves.
There is no charge for the tasting.
