Chante Cigale

The story of this Domaine begins in 1874 when Hyppolite Jourdan renamed the family estate of 28 hectares "Clos Chante Cigale".

In 1936, the appellation Châteauneuf du Pape was declared the first AOC in France and the producers of the appellation were structured accordingly.

Paul Jourdan is at that time at the head of the family property and decides to name it "Domaine Chante Cigale".

Domaine Chante Cigale is today one of the most important family properties in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is now led by Alexandre Favier, who continues the tradition of family winemakers.

The estate has a vineyard that stretches over 40 hectares on the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation spread over 45 plots, broken out over the whole of this exceptional terroir: the diversity of soils and grape varieties makes it possible to develop unique wines. The spirit of the estate is assured by Alexandre Favier and his team who ensure themselves every step of the production of the wines of the property.
