GRAPES: 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon.
TERROIR: The Entre-deux-mers, situated between the Dordogne and the Garonne, is made up of very high-quality, predominantly clay-limestone soil, ideal for all white grape varieties. Limestone gives the wine a mineral freshness, while clay soil brings out the fruit and the typical Sauvignon flavours of boxwood and blackcurrant bud.
2015 VINTAGE: The winter of 2015 was cool and dry, followed by a warmer spring with little rainfall. Very mild weather in May brought on the vines quickly and flowering took place in the best possible conditions in early June. Ideal summer weather combined with appropriate action in the vineyard and the expertise of Baron Philippe de Rothschild's winemakers ensured a very good vintage. The very expressive white wines show beautifully fresh Sauvignons and rich and full Semillons.
VINIFICATION: Baron Philippe de Rothschild's winemakers monitor the selected parcels throughout the vegetation cycle, advising the growers on vineyard practices in order to meet the exacting quality standards of Mouton Cadet Reserve.
COLOUR: A glittering buttercup yellow.
NOSE: The nose opens on white peach and preserved lemon notes, then with airing reveals a touch of mint enveloped in toasted hazelnut aromas.
PALATE: From a fresh attack on forward citrus flavours, the mid-palate opens up on peach and hazelnut notes. A very mineral finish concludes the wine on touches of vanilla.
