Caliterra / 2015 Edicion Limitada 'A'.

COUNTRY/REGION: Chile/Colchagua Valley.

GRAPES: 58% Malbec and 42% Carmenere.

ABV: 13.5%

UNIT: 1 x 75cl Bottle.

WINEMAKER NOTE: Deep blueish-red in colour with great intensity. Aromas of fresh fruit such as blackberries and blueberries appear along with beautiful floral and spicy notes. The palate is intense and fresh with sharp acidity that brings liveliness and elegance , all of which promising a great ageing potential.

VINEYARD: The Colchagua Valley is home to our Caliterra Estate, located 200 km (125 miles) south of Santiago and 60 km (37 miles) from the coast at 15 metres above sea level (500 feet a.s.l.). Caliterra Estate has approximately 1,085 ha (2,681 acres) with approximately 75% of untouched land and Mediterranean climate, with cool nights and gentle breezes that temper the sun's energy. A mixture of deep granite soils, clay and colluvial soils.

VINTAGE: The relatively early 2015 harvest resulted in a vintage with a fresh palate profile, elegant potency and concentration as well as a subtle aromatic expression.

WINEMAKING: The grapes were hand-picked into plastic trays, destemmed, and then gently crushed and deposited into stainless steel tanks, where they were fermented, starting at 28°C (82°F). Post-fermentation maceration lasted 25 days to encourage extraction of the tannins and thus enhance the structure of the wine. The blend was aged and underwent malolactic fermentation in American and French oak barrels for 18 months to add complexity. Fining occurred naturally as the wine decanted during ageing.

TASTING NOTES: A unique pairing of the two signature grapes of South America, it has a beautifully deep, purple tinged colour with exotic and spicy aromas while the palate contrasts the sweet fruit of the Malbec with Carmenère’s leafy and savoury quality.

DELIVERY: All our wines are stored in our importers bonded warehouse’s, which have the optimum environment for fine wine storage, by carefully regulating temperature, humidity and other microclimatic factors.

As such, please allow between 7 and 10 days for your delivery to arrive.
