COUNTRY/REGION: Chile/Colchagua Valley.
GRAPES: 46% Petit Verdot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon and 23% Cabernet Franc.
WINEMAKER NOTES: A lively and very pleasant wine. This distinctive blend combines the sophistication and complexity of a wine from Bordeaux with the finesse of the Caliterra terroir. Though the fruitiness and character of the Cabernet Sauvignon predominate in this blend, the intensity and freshness of the Petit Verdot also appear plainly. The structure and elegance are given by the presence of the Cabernet Franc and the Merlot.
VINEYARDS: The Colchagua Valley is home to the Caliterra Estate, located 200 km south of Santiago and 60 km from the coast at 150 meters above sea level. Caliterra Estate has approximately 1,085 ha with approximately 75% of untouched land and Mediterranean climate, where cool nights and gentle breezes temper the sun's energy creating perfectly ripe, intense, concentrated and balanced wines.
VINTAGE: The relatively early 2015 harvest resulted in a vintage with a fresh palate profile, elegant potency and concentration as well as a subtle aromatic expression.
WINE MAKING: Fermented 100% in stainless steel tanks at between 24¼-28°C. before 100% ageing in barrel for 18 months in 30% new French and American oak barrels.
TASTING NOTES: A Bordeaux inspired blend which varies each vintage but focuses on the noble varieties of the Aquitaine region. This is an esoteric Chilean offering in keeping with the Edición Limitada quirky philosophy, rich in black fruit fl avour and a unique character.
