COUNTRY/REGION: Chile/Colchagua Valley.
GRAPES: 57% Syrah, 34% Carignan, 6% Grenache and 3% Marsanne.
WINEMAKER NOTES: This intense garnet-red wine shows itself slowly. This blend begins presenting enjoyable aromas such as raspberry and blackberry, and then it exhibits all of its spicy exuberance with subtle notes of grey pepper and tarragon. The rich and vibrant acidity highlights the palate and becomes the backbone of this elegant, fresh and original blend, which certainly will reveal more over the next years.
VINEYARDS: The Colchagua Valley is home to the Caliterra Estate, located 200 km south of Santiago and 60 km from the coast at 150 meters above sea level. Caliterra Estate has approximately 1,085 ha with approximately 75% of untouched land and Mediterranean climate, where cool nights and gentle breezes temper the sun's energy creating perfectly ripe, intense, concentrated and balanced wines.
VINTAGE: The relatively early 2015 harvest resulted in a vintage with a fresh palate profile, elegant potency and concentration as well as a subtle aromatic expression.
WINE MAKING: Fermentation took place in 100% stainless steel tanks at temperatures of 24°- 26°C for approx 30 days. The blend is then aged in barrel (30% new French) for 18 months.
TASTING NOTES: A powerful blend of Mediterranean varieties which are carefully assembled each vintage to highlight bright, ripe fruit character with balance and complexity.
