Caliterra / 2015 Tributo Single Vineyard Carmenere

This Product is Temporarily Out of stock.

COUNTRY/REGION: Chile/Colchagua Valley.

GRAPES: 100% Carmenere.

ABV: 13.5%

WINEMAKER NOTES: Deep purplish-reddish in color, the 2015 Tributo Carmenere shows tremendous intensity on the nose. It opens with aromas of black fruits accompanied by a light touch of spice such as black pepper and cloves over a subtle backdrop of roasted red pepper and tarragon. The palate features very soft, silky tannins, along with vibrant acidity and tremendous volume, all of which predicts a good ageing potential.

VINEYARDS: The Colchagua Valley is home to our Caliterra Estate, located 200 km (125 miles) south of Santiago and 60 km (37 miles) from the coast at 150 meters above sea level (500 feet a.s.l.). Caliterra Estate has approximately 1,085 ha (2,681 acres) with approximately 75% of untouched land and Mediterranean climate, where cool nights and gentle breezes temper the sun's energy creating perfectly ripe, intense, concentrated and balanced wines.

VINTAGE: The relatively early 2015 harvest resulted in a vintage with a fresh palate profile, elegant potency and concentration as well as a subtle aromatic expression.

WINE MAKING: Fermentation was initiated at 28° C, but the temperature was decreased afterwards in order to avoid excessive extraction of the elements in the skins. The wine was stored in oak barrels, 84% American and 16% French for 12 months during which time malolactic fermentation was carried out.

TASTING NOTES: Rich aromas of roasted red pepper, coffee and soy sauce follow through to beautifully integrated and full-bodied palate of rich black fruit, vanilla and oak spice with hints of chocolate and firm tannins.

DELIVERY: All our wines are stored in our importers bonded warehouse’s, which have the optimum environment for fine wine storage, by carefully regulating temperature, humidity and other micro climatic factors.

As such, please allow between 7 and 10 days for your delivery to arrive.
