COUNTRY/REGION: France/Beaujolais.
GRAPES: 100% Gamay.
ABV:
SOIL: Granit.
SITE: One of the most famous crus of the Beaujolais. The area of production is located in the southern part of the villages of Chenas in the Saône & Loire Department and in Romanèche Thorins in the Rhône Department. The vineyards are on the sides of a hill overlooked by a windmill, hence the name of the wine.
THE 2015 VINTAGE: After a cold winter and a mild spring, the weather conditions in Summer were ideal with cold nights and warm days and enabled a perfect maturation of the grapes. The harvest took place mid September under a bright sunshine. The red wines develop beautiful aromas of ripe red and black berries with a fleshy texture.
TASTING: Bright red colour. Aromas of ripe cherries and ripe raspberries mixed with delicate fragrances of violet. Complex and well-structured. Very pure fruit. Long and refreshing aftertaste.
