COUNTRY/REGION: France/Côtes du Roussillon.
GRAPES: Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris and Macabeu.
Passion for terrior took Michel Chaputier south to Roussillon where he bought land in the village of Latour de France. Domaine Bila-Haut is farmed both organically and bio-dynamically. Parcels of grapes comes from limestone and clay soils in the Agly Valley; the other part from granite soils at higher altitude (500m), which are later ripening sites.
The hand-harvested grapes are pressed and cold settled. Vinification is performed in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and ageing lasts a few months in order to keep the freshness and enhance the minerality of the wine.
TASTING NOTES: Pale yellow colour with green tints. The nose exhibits citrus aromas (lemon, grapefruit) with smoky notes.The palate is fresh and very aromatic, A round mouthfeel, with great acidity (coming from the later ripening sites at higher altitude). A lot of freshness on the finish mixed with salty notes and minerality.
DELIVERY: All our wines are stored in our importers bonded warehouse’s, which have the optimum environment for fine wine storage, by carefully regulating temperature, humidity and other microclimatic factors.
