COUNTRY/REGION: France/Côtes du Roussillon.
GRAPES: Syrah, Grenache and Carignan.
DETAILS OF PRODUCTION: Passion for terrior took Michel Chaputier south to Roussillon where he bought land in the village of Latour de France. Domaine Bila-Haut is farmed both organically and bio-dynamically. The vineyard is located on Gneiss and schistous soils from the Devonian Period and limestone from Kimmeridgian Period. Grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed. Extraction is only carried out by punching of the cap during a long maceration (at least four weeks). About a half matured in vats and the other half is aged in casks according to the vintage.
TASTING NOTES: Dark garnet-red in colour. Initially the nose has a dominant graphitic and leather aroma, changing to reveal notes of pepper and black fruits. On the palate the wine is rich, dense and fleshy. Delicate tannins and a great freshness add to the complex flavours.
DELIVERY: All our wines are stored in our importers bonded warehouse’s, which have the optimum environment for fine wine storage, by carefully regulating temperature, humidity and other microclimatic factors.
