GRAPES: 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
The Château des Laurets vineyard straddles the Puisseguin Saint-Emilion and Montagne Saint-Emilion appellations. The entrance to the estate offers a view of a superb chateau built around 1860, whose architectural particularity lies in the existence of an octagonal central tower dominating its rear part and overlooking the vineyard.
Installed on hillsides exposed to the south and revealing limestone outcrops in places, this excellent terroir gives the Merlot of Saint-Emilion all its power and its typicity. Baron Benjamin de Rothschild acquired and renovated this superb property in 2003, with the desire to develop its full potential. The deep, deep ruby red colour is very clear.
