Imperial / 2014 Rioja Reserva

GRAPES: 85% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo and 5% Garnacha.

ABV: 13.5%

WINEMAKER NOTES: Intense body of cherry colour with beautiful purple highlights. Attractive aroma of forest fruits, violets and liquorice with hints of Atlantic forest, clove and cigar leaves.

VINEYARDS: Made from a selection of the best grapes from our Rioja Alta vineyards.

VINTAGE: The 2014 harvest yield exceeded the previous two vintages. Preventative measures in the vineyard, such as thinning clusters and leaves, allowed us to maintain the high quality of grapes.

WINEMAKING: Before starting the alcoholic fermentation, the bunches were cooled down and kept at a low temperature for some hours. The fermentation took place in French oak vats. After its second fermentation, the wine was then aged in both American and Frech oak casks ro two years, followed by another two years in bottle prior to release into market.

TASTING NOTES: This Reserva is a careful selection of perfectly ripe Tempranillo grapes, from superb vineyards in Rioja Alta, some Graciano adds more finesse and polish while a little Mazuelo brings depth and colour. Two years in French and American oak casks has softened this lovely wine leaving it fragrantly aromatic and spicy with underlying rich fruit and a savoury palate with balance and elegance on the long and complex finish.

DELIVERY: All our wines are stored in our importers bonded warehouse’s, which have the optimum environment for fine wine storage, by carefully regulating temperature, humidity and other microclimatic factors.
