Jean-Luc Colombo / 2011 Cote Rotie "La Divine".

COUNTRY/REGION: France/Rhone Valley.

GRAPES: 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier.

ABV: 13%

UNIT: 1 x 75cl Bottle.

WINEMAKER NOTES: Divine by name, divine by nature. Exquisite aromas of exotic spices, jammy black fruit and slight notes of smoke lead in to a well-structured, round and powerful wine. Densely flavoured with superb concentration.

VINYARDS: Ferrous mica schist terraces, very steep, covered with a layer of sand-lime.

VINTAGE: The vintage in the Rhone was both challenging and rewarding. Spring was as dry as the winter before it and mild as well, so flowering was early and successful. The Colombo thinking is vehemently against any form of irrigation, so the young vines have been less fruitful this year. Overall 2011 was a successful vintage with good yields.

WINEMAKING: After a long maceration, the wine is matured for 18 months in oak barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 1 year old, 1/3 2 years old barrels.)

TASTING NOTES: Divine by name, divine by nature. Exquisite aromas of exotic spices, jammy black fruit and slight notes of smoke. Superb concentration, round and powerful. Bring on the rib-eye.

DELIVERY: All our wines are stored in our importers bonded warehouse’s, which have the optimum environment for fine wine storage, by carefully regulating temperature, humidity and other microclimatic factors.
