VINEYARD: From vineyards planted on the granitic terraced slopes of this renowned appellation in the Northern Rhône.
VINTAGE: 2015 was an exceptionally good vintage in the Northern Rhône - especially for red varietals. The relatively wet winter and spring helped to replenish the water table that eased the hot conditions over the summer months. There was a very little rainfall between June and August but thanks to the water reserve, the grapes were very healthy and of very high quality.
WINEMAKING: The grapes are manually harvested into small, shallow containers and vinified traditionally, undergoing a long maceration process. The wine is aged for 15 months in oak barrels (1/3 in new oak, 1/3 in 1 year old, 1/3 in 2 years old barrels.).
TASTING NOTES: An upmarket cuvée from a single vineyard site displaying delicate notes of black currant and raspberry on the nose leading to a fresh, juicy cherry and black plum fruit palate against a ferrous background.
