Grapes: 100% Riesling.
Unit: 1 x 75cl Bottle.
Our Mort’s Block Riesling is sourced from up to three unique vineyard sites in Watervale, all characterised by their moderately fertile, loam over limestone soil profiles. All fruit parcels were hand harvested in late February, typically yielding between 5.0 and 6.0 tonnes per hectare. The unique vineyard terroirs and elevation of these locations has captured the very essence of the vintage yet again.
We experienced very challenging ripening and vintage conditions in 2014 including an early heatwave, heavy rainfall events and overall cool and dry conditions in the weeks leading up to the harvest. Thankfully, autumn weather arrived earlier than usual in late January and the warm days and cool nights led to a very structured and organised hand picking of the Mort’s Block fruit parcels. The naturally retained acidities and vibrant fruit flavours the perfect combination for high quality Rieslings and classic ageing potential.
