GRAPES: 100% Gamay.
Atop the hierarchy of Beaujolais Crus are Moulin-à-Vent and Morgon, with notable ageing potential. Often called the most “Burgundian” Cru, Moulin-à-Vent shows complexity, finesse and length. Château des Jacques Moulin-à-Vent can age at least 10-20 years. Following harvest, a portion of the grapes are de stemmed before the wine is vinified in closed vats with pumping over. Finally, the wine matures in oak barrels.
TASTING NOTE: This full, robust Beaujolais offers a fleshy texture and greater longevity than any other Beaujolais Cru. Its exceptional structure supports vivid red fruit aromas.
FOOD PAIRING: Moulin-à-Vent is perfect with lighter red meat dishes.
