NOSE: ridiculously seductive: the involvement of the tannin is precise, measured and delightful;
TASTE: one of the most viscous mouth-feels I have ever encountered: actually needed to check the bottle to ensure this wasn’t a liqueur ...! The initial heather honey sweetness on delivery adds to the effect. But soon those tannions so clearly defined on the nose are making their presence felt from about the fourth flavorwave onwards;
FINISH: a teasing spices as the oak plays out its wonderfully orchestrated tune;
BALANCE: a belting malt which will appeal especially to those with a very sweet tooth. But isn’t all one way traffic and some outstanding oak ensure balance.
