Mount Gay was founded in 1703, when John Sober inherited a small distillery at the top of Mount Gilboa. The distillery originally produced its rums with sugar cane molasses. Mount Gay distillery has been closed down since, and was completely dismantled. However, its legacy lives on. We are very proud to be releasing a rum from this legendary distillery!
