COUNTRY/REGION: Argentina/Great Southern.
GRAPE VARIETIES: 100% Shiraz.
Wild cherry and plum notes with long, fine, silky tannins.
VINEYARDS: Vertical trellising and hand picked berries.
VINTAGE: The 2013 vintage in the Great Southern region was a challenging one. Following mild winter, spring brought above average rainfall which resulted in a good crop set. Unfortunately, in late November a storm with hail affected flowering which resulted in small yields but on the other hand delivered great intensity to the resulting crop.
WINEMAKING: Following hand harvest, the grapes were sorted and fermented. After additional two weeks post-ferment maceration, the wine was matured for 7 months in French barriques.
