COUNTRY/REGION: New Zealand/Nelson.
GRAPES: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
WINEMAKER NOTES: Passion fruit, nectarine and lemongrass parade before the beholder. Gentle scents of green herb and flamboyant tropical fruit arrive on the scene while a light-footed streak of crisp vibrancy departs side stage.
VINEYARDS: Meticulous effort from our Nelson viticulture team ensured the vineyards delivered clean, concentrated, and balanced fruit jam packed with classic Sauvignon Blanc flavours.
VINTAGE: Nelson got away to a good start. Spring was relatively free of cold nights. Rainfall was sufficient for good soil moisture levels and spring growth. Although temperatures were again mixed with the Christmas period being very unsettled, crop levels were average to slightly above average on the whole. Significant rainfall in January and then again in March meant that canopies remained healthily, and harvesting decisions were paramount to ensure nice clean fruit for the year.
WINEMAKING: The fruit was gently crushed and pressed, and the clear juice was run off for a cool ferment with yeast chosen to highlight the punchy aromatics of this variety. After a short period ageing on lees, the wine was blended and bottled.
TASTING NOTES: A parade of tropical and lemongrass characters march before the beholder, accompanied by gentle notes of green herb and crisp acidity.
DELIVERY: All our wines are stored in our importers bonded warehouse’s, which have the optimum environment for fine wine storage, by carefully regulating temperature, humidity and other microclimatic factors.
As such, please allow between 7 and 10 days for your delivery to arrive.
