Finca La Escuela is located in Paraje Altamira, the premiere region for Malbec. It is named for the rural school (Escuela) located on the property. TintoNegro actively supports the school through regular donations and scholarships, furthering the education of their rural vineyard families. The vineyard has a patchwork of unique soil structures: sandy in some areas, stony patches of calcareous rocks, and light silt. “Limo” means silt in Spanish and refers to the swath of silty soil on the northern edge of the vineyard. The heaviest soil in the vineyard, this area retains the most amount of water. It therefore has the lowest temperature profile. The Malbec grown on this soils profile shows a very floral aromatic profile, decidedly red fruit flavours, and bright, crisp acidity
