Since 1897 Tomatin have been combining soft mountain water with tender local barley, introducing it to tall copper stills and - following years of maturation in oak casks - collecting the mellow, fruity spirit. Approaching alchemy, the process reveals nature’s extraordinary elements in all their glory. The second phase of the cycle is exhibited through maturation of this edition in heavily charred oak casks which, having been fired before previous use, were stripped then re-fired stimulating new, fresh vanilla flavours.
Like devouring a sweetly satisfying baked apple pie with a light dusting of cinnamon. Creamy with some citrus zing, this edition is slightly dry with a delicate, spicy finish.
Nose: Creamy butterscotch with citrus and winter spices.
Taste: Sweet apple pie with a light dusting of cinnamon.
Finish: Slightly dry with a delicate spicy finish.
