COUNTRY/REGION: Australia/Barossa Valley.
GRAPES: 100% Grenache.
DETAILS OF PRODUCTION: The fruit for this wine was predominantly sourced from 98 year old Grenache vines grown on the Turkey Flat Vineyard. These spur pruned, old vines produce low yields (around 2 tonnes/acre or approximately 32 hectolitres/hectare) of fantastically concentrated fruit, creating a style of Grenache which Turkey Flat has become famous for.
After initial fermentation 50% of the stems were added back to the crushed fruit, spending 7 - 14 days on skins. Maturation took place in a combination of neutral oak Foudre and 20% new Burgundian barrels.
TASTING NOTES: The wine is one of power, balance and is exceptionally varietal. The nose delivers black fruit and a subtle hint of bracken. The palate follows with a rich body of dark fruit compote and gentle spice, bound by a deep structure and modest oak integration.
Delivery: All our wines are stored in our importers bonded warehouse’s, which have the optimum environment for fine wine storage, by carefully regulating temperature, humidity and other microclimatic factors.
As such, please allow between 7 and 10 days for your delivery to arrive.
