COUNTRY/REGION: New Zealand/Marlborough.
GRAPES: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
Powerful aromas of lime and passionfruit combine with underlying green capsicum and subtle flinty notes. The palate is full and rich exploding with blackcurrant leaf, grapefruit and complex mineral characters. The intense fruit notes are complemented by a finely woven acidity, creating a long lingering finish.
VINEYARDS: The Maxwell Vineyard is situated in the exceptional Southern Clays area, nestled in the gentle north facing foothills of the Ben Morven Valley in Marlborough. The vineyard's clay soils, coupled with a strong pursuit of vine health and balance, have resulted in fruit of outstanding quality.
VINTAGE: Colder weather in spring led to a longer than usual flowering season, resulting in a looser bunch structure and smaller bunches. Summer temperatures were unusually mild for Marlborough, regulated by cooler easterly breezes and light cloud cover. Intermittent autumn rains slowed ripening which meant our harvest plans had to be flexible whilst we waited for dry weather periods and classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc flavours to develop
WINE-MAKING: The juice received a long and cool fermentation to retain the fruit's intense varietal characters. The wine was aged on yeast lees for four months to enhance palate texture and complexity before bottling.
DELIVERY: All our wines are stored in our importers bonded warehouse’s, which have the optimum environment for fine wine storage, by carefully regulating temperature, humidity and other microclimatic factors.
As such, please allow between 7 and 10 days for your delivery to arrive.
